Help me on Radiator Specs-----Year

Donaldson mufflers (again)

OK - I have repl;aced my fan clutch over a year ago and while my ears are bad - I don't think it ever comes on EVEN THOUGH MY RIG WILL REALLY OVERHEAT!!!!!!

Now - is their any electrical connection to this unit?

Can you pour say hot water or hot air over the unit to fool it into thinking the rad is super hot?????

Hammersley,

Do you have a Horton clutch fan or the factory viscous fluid fan. If it's the latter, unless you are really hot and your grabbing some serious revs with lots of forward motion, you generally don't hear it.

I can sure here my factory fan engage, sounds like the roar of an airplane. Only happens when doing about 75-80 mph on a REALLY hot day unloaded, happens a tad more often when loaded up hills and what not.

Nope factory one and recently the beast got pretty hot - 240 - had to pull over immediately and turn on heater (105 outside - nice huh) to cool her down..... NO ROARING OF FAN that I could hear - other than me trying to get RPM's up to circulate more water through the heater core... .....

sounds like the fan clutch, perhaps you got a loser one last year. Be sure and clean the radiator really good, over time they really can catch a lot of garbage, especially if you haven't done anything with the breather bottle.

No.

Maybe.

The wordy test procedure shows up in your Factory Service Manual. It does not involve pouring hot water or hot air over the unit.
