My fan clutch engages more than I think it should. Today it was 75* outside and I could hear it engaging from time to time. Mind you, I was climbing the mountain going home, but at 75* I wouldn't think it would need to engage.

Where should I be looking?

Your 98 probably came with a 195 degree thermostat change to a 180 degree. That's what I did and the fan hardly ever comes on now.

Hows the temps? Are they high enough to turn on the fan? 220 something i think... Check your radiator, might need degreased and cleaned w/ hot water. .

Mine comes on a lot too, and I think I have the 180 Tstat. Mine doesn't start 'til upper 80s though, and runs almost constantly above 95-98 (but the AC is always on though).

My temps have never gone over 190. I'm used to hearing it come on when driving down in the heat (95*-105* in Pueblo is not unusual), but I don't remember ever hearing it when I'm up in the mountains. Seems like it's changed all of a sudden.
