my 2013 5500 chewed up the wiring harness between the engine and the fan clutch today. I am looking for a kit or pigtail part# for the engine side of the harness and a part #and identification of the sensor that might be on the engine also that is no longer there. We also will be needing the brackets that the harness is attached to. any help is much
appreciated on advance, ThankYou. I could also use the color code to pin

I feel your pain. Mine got eaten several years ago; lost plug-in, fan blade and gained a hole in the radiator. I ended up finding a replacement fan, and clutch assembly with plug-in at the local junk yard for $160.00.

well I am not close to the truck and my driver has sent me pictures and it looks like there is a section of the harness with a plug on either end that plugs to the engine harness on engine side and the other end plugs into the fan clutch. that piece is awol along with the bracket that holds it. I would need the part #'s for those two pieces and he also mentioned a hose with maybe a 3/8 in.. id but thick wall he though maybe it is a vacuum hose. any help will be appreciated. Also just talked to the dealer they only sell the whole fan clutch assembly and those parts come with it. Only $350.00 sure would like to find a more economical solution.

No I have not. I will do that in preparation for the next time the truck is back on the road today and my pocket is $350.00 lighter. I guess the bright side of it all is I have a extra fan clutch assembly minus the pigtail and the bracket that hold the pigtail out of the way of the fan.

and a quick browse at genos I found this $90.00 Cheaper than dealer, I f I had the time to wait for shipping this would have been a better way to go.

Well look at the bright side, at least when you find a plug you'll be able to splice it in while working on a work-bench instead of laying on your back under the truck trying to piece it all together, LOL. Sorry, I appreciate your predicament and glad you were able to get underway.

well driver headed out again this morning heard something flapping. sure enough the belt is shredding again, so now to find out what is causing the damage to the belt I am leaning towards a bad tensioner or idler pulley.

had the guys put a new s belt today and it was walking on the Tensioner. So I sent it to the dealer they did the quick read as it came in truck had 19 codes! beginning to sound expensive. Hopefuly it wont be to bad, will know something tomorrow.

Pig tail part number

I loked at my 2013 and this is what I can see:

I can't read the all the numbers on the tag, but it does not appear to be a Ram part number.

DBS1 if you get the part number please post it. It looks very susceptible to damage to me if there is a fan belt, or tensioner, or water pump, or....(you name it) issue. I may need this in the future too.

Truck is coming home tonight $1700.00 later. they had to replace the Water pump apparently the first belt got tied up in the pump and caused a problem with the pulley. hopefully this will be the end of this problem.

this a good reason to keep an eye on that belt and make sure it is in good condition. over all this has been an expensive week for us. The guys also found parts of the belt tied up in the ac pulley when they replaced the belt again yesterday. These belt can cause a lot of problems when they start to shred, that may not be apparent on first look..

Sorry for the cost to you. Please update us on the parts replaced. We all need pay attention to his issue!

As i posted earlier at this time I have not found anything available other than buying the whole fan assembly. Although in all fairness I have not called Genos to find out if they have something else available. When I searched there Website all that came up was the fan clutch assembly.

WOW.. did they replace the Fan? Water pumps 40 minutes labor, the Idler another 20 minutes, the fans 1.5hrs and $500.00
