... How many of you had yours go bad already? Mine decided to go south today... pulling Baker grade with 28,000# on it !! What size is the big nut ?

My fan clutch woes have been extensive. 7 at last count. Truck went 100,000 before the fan clutch problems showed up. They were going out at the rate of one every 5,000 miles. Replaced all of the related parts and still had problems. The most recent replacement has lasted 14,000 miles. best tip I can give when you are pulling that heavy is to watch your EGT's and try to keep them under 950 degrees for such long sustained pulls. Also be sure to make your downshifts at the right time. My truck likes to be downshifted at just above 2,000 rpm with a good throttle blip immediately following to get the rpm back in the sweet spot. Fan clutch is a dealer only part, I got my spare one for $195. 00. I attribute this last fan clutch's longevity to my new SPS 66 turbo. The truck is running a lot cooler.

Damn George, hopefully this does not become a continuing problem. My part # ended with "AF", meaning the part has been revised 6 times !!! Wonder why that is. Where are you buying yours at? Your pyro must be before turbo, correct, to keep temps that low? "Related parts", which ones are you talking about? I know, questions, questions!!
