My 04 3500 dually has started to over heat on long hard pulls... and the fan clutch doesn't sound the same... . this truck has the mechanical fan clutch, not the electric one used on the 04. 5 and up... .

We can't find another source for it other than our local dealer at about $230. 00 or so..... Cummin's can't seem to interchange the part number for a Cummins part... . On this board someone had the ability to interchange the Dodge number to Cummins or a way to source some of these parts... .

Any help would be helpful...

BTW - all tests of the cooling system seem to be fine... . good coolant, check for leaks finds no problems... we checked the radiator for flow... . just no other problems... . but when the fan comes on... it doesn't seem to come on as soon as it used to... or be as noisy as it used to be... we're guessing that its slipping... .

Thanks

It is a electro/ mechanical type. Look between the clutch hub and the radiator, you'll see the harness leading up to it from down below.
