Truck heated up today with moderate load. It did not seem like the clutch on the fan was engaging. Is there better aftermarket clutches available?

Do i replace fan and clutch or can the clutch be purchase seperatly?

What is the procedure for remoing the fan?

Thanks for the help.

Only thing available is from Dodge... for around $420, unless you run it through someones shop. Need like a 36mm wrench, a "spanner" type wrench and IIRC a 12mm wrench. Clutch is seperate from the fan, no need to buy a fan unless yours is out of balance. I'm on number 4 right now, another member I believe is on # 14... yes, #14 !!!! 10 minute job once you get it down, right George !!!:-laf

Need definition on heated up ? Mine will run 200-205 with a load. Stock cruising 193

Try cleaning out radiator/ Condensor/Intercooler as for as I know my fan clutch is still working with 214,000 miles on it.

If you're talking about the '96 in your sig, it'll probably last a lifetime. The 3 rd gens have a totally new... (screwed) up system. #@$%!

No they haven't. It is my understanding that they have also discontinued support for the earlier models BTW.

Try looking at Mopar parts at this site Mopar Parts ~ OEM Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Plymouth Parts $302. 50 for your unit. Mine needed a large wrench since it was stuck hard. Also use card board between the fan an radiator for protection. Search the third gen area and you can find the thread that has excellent instructions on the procedure of the replacement.
