I need to replace mine. I found a thread but it was for the 1st gen.

From that thread;

"You have to go to a bearing house that handles NTN bearings. I got mine for $41. 00. The bearing # is DF0766LLUACS32 and is available through any authorized NTN distributor

Good luck,

Rod"

Anyone know if that bearing number is good for the 97? Anyone ever change this bearing? Is it any big deal to press out?

Can't help with the PN since I paid three times your price at Cummins NW for my 96 but I managed to press out the old and back in with the new without any problems.

Qtrhorse:

I think they are different (1st gen to second gen).

I couldn't seem to source one for a second gen. thru NTN although I had the number (2nd gen) as well. Cummins will sell just the bearing, about $100 (its a double stacked unit).

I'm away from the computer for a few days that has an email that I sent to NTN, with the 2nd gen. part number. I think they said it was made for Cummins (or the Cummins fan mount supplier/manu)

If you have lots of time remove the fan then remove the fan mount, you can likely wiggle it out between the shroud. Hold the nut, then back off the bolt with an impact wrench then you can get the numbers off the seal. .

Good luck

Andy

Thanks for the replies.

Andy, if you get a chance to post that bearing number, I will be grateful. I did pull my fan off to reduce the load on the bearing until I can fix it. Although, in retrospect to this week, I should have pulled it.

Truck's been sitting with the driveshaft apart until I can get that back together. I went on midnight shift this week which put a damper on everything else.

NTN ..... DF0766LLUACS32, 1st gen. .

98 12v s/b (same as your 97) bearing part number was ??DF07766LUA

So I don't know if their the same. . it did appear there were two of them pressed in as an assy. (second gen. )

Good luck

Andy
