Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fan Hub Bearing Screaming

Ok did some searching and it seems that I can order a bearing, and not the entire assembly? I found a NSK part # BD35-12AT12DDU801 but I can not find anyone that has the bearing. Is this the correct part #? Also what is involved in replacing the bearing, never replaced one before.

Cerb would be a go to guy for that, he has instructed several people on here about pressing the bearing in and out. Also the fan bearing has been available through Motion Industries, do you have one nearby??? I think that Geno's is now offering the bearing as well.

Fun little buggers for sure. The bearing presses into the housing from back or engine side. The fan mount shaft pressues in from the front or radiator side.

Its a little iffy but if you bolt the support to a bench upside down and support it, the fan mount shaft can be driven out from the back side, flip the support over and the bearing can be driven out the back side. Assemble in reverse order, bearing into support, then drive the mounting shaft back thru support the back side of the bearing. A solid bench or vice and a blunt driver is needed. A press and clam shell bearing puller would make it a lot easier.

The bearing, if it is the same as a 3rd gen, from Motion was $47. Cummins wants $157. The dealer wants $375 for the complete assembly.
