had no previous issue's with a/c, but turned fan on the other day noticed that when selector switch was on 3 it seems that there was a little vibration in the dashboard, turned the selector switch to 4 and all hell broke loose. the whole dash and floor vibrates like somebody is inside with a wood sander. has anybody have a clue what the hell has happen ?- truck is a 05- 2500, has never been to the dealer in 27,000 miles. first big problem since bought new. hate to take it in !

Mice in the dash can and will find their way into the blower fan. They come in through the air inlet..... *OR*

Your Fan bearing is failing. #@$%! I pulled a customer`s fan due to the same problem you having and found a big dead mouse... . I have seen this 3 times in 30 years. Happy Hunting... . :D

My 06 had much the same symptoms. I think they said a fan blade weight fell off or it was just a piece of plastic debris in the squirrel cage. But that was last summer and my memory is a little foggy, but it was no big deal. I hope it wasn't a piece of plastic from the doors starting to fall apart. But they all switch and work fine so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed. I hope your fix is simple too.

Dealer called today and told me the recirc door broke and a piece fell into the fan cage. I get a whole new door assembly.

What was involved in its replacement, is this where the whole damn dash has to come apart!!?? #@$%! Just took a spin in mine to break in the new clutch (again) and when I put the fan speed to 4 I noticed a vibration. Came home , dropped the blower motor (fan) and found a piece of plastic in there, looks like it was part from a corner of something... . :confused:Anyways, right above the blower there is a square flap(door?), is that the recirc door? Can not tell how it is supposed to be in there, is there a way to rig it so I get max airflow from the dash vents, out put seemed to be down tonight from the dash vents, mode selector seems to select proper area to blow from, just not pushing enough air.

The exact thing just happened to my 06. So that I can at least have AC and the fan on high until I can get to the dealer, I removed the blower motor (three screws), and pulled out the small broken piece from the squirlcage fan, which was the cause of the vibration. Then, I reached up and pulled out the broken door. For the most part, the system works well, but I can't select between fresh air or recirculate. Honestly, if it wasn't under warranty (33k miles), I'd probably leave it as it is.

This is unacceptable. This type of problem has been happening on these trucks since the 2003 model, and Dodge still can't get it right. Typical American design. #@$%!

WTH, every ones A/C decide to take a crap here at the same time!!?? Does this piece I just took a pic of look familiar to anyone?

The door I'm looking at up the hole is full of little squares and does appear it is going to come out where the blower is, sound right?:confused:

Funny... I just removed this last night. After removing the blower motor, this was right above it:

And it came right out through the blower motor opening? Just went out again and mine is too damn big to come out through there, regardless of how I turn it!#@$%!

how do you get to the blower motor ? what three screws are you talking about to get to the motor. the vibration in mine is by no means suttle, and not alot of air coming out of vents, sounds like defrost is on at the same time , would like to check it out before it goes into the dealer next week, to keep them honest.

Bottom, passenger side of the dash, right by the kick panel, can not miss it, unplug connector, 3 screws, and it drops right out, take it out and see what you find in it!

Yeah, exactly what MMeier said. Your passenger's feet probably hit it all the time. By the way, one of the rear screws is a little more difficult to get to. I found the small broken piece in mine, and the door was laying above it blocking the opening. Reached up and grabbed the door, rotated it, and pulled it down through the opening. I think I spent a total of 5 minutes doing this.

My symptom was the same, no air and lots of vibration starting with the fan in the second position, unbearable in the third position, and all hell is breaking loose in the third position.

Took my broken door out this morning, just wasn't looking at it right last night. Upon further inspection, the dash has to come apart to fix this, correct? Think I may just let it go for now till the other damn door breaks off !! :mad:Still can not figure out my P0647 code though, might try toggle switching in 12 v directly to the compressor ... whats the worst that can happen , something short circuit and the truck burns to the ground?? :-laf:p
