Just curious if anyone else has had their heater fan decide it wanted to be possesed, went to walmart last nite, after coming back out and starting the truck it was about 35 out fired up the heater and fan, sounded like a kids bike with a playing card stuck in the spoke, could it be i have a loose fan fin, after about 5 min it stopped well today having the truck out it started as soon as i turned on the heater, hmmmmmm, I looked under the dash, looks like the fan is simple to get to, but does anyone have a diagram or could possible show me for sure before i start taking out screws. . the fan by the way is working fine with not ill effects. .

Mine did that for a while. I figured something got down into the defroster vent and was touching the fan. It quit after a week or so. That was over a year ago.

Mine does that every so often. . I think possibly a leaf or something got in there and cant get out. . I usually just turn the fan on hi and chomp it out. . then it goes away heh

i figured that might be the problem, so is the fan easy to just drop down and check, looked like there might be 3 to 4 screws in the bottom of the fan housing, i would assume it just drops down, its worth a look just in case.....

Thanks guys i appreciate it bunches

Next week im going to drop the fan housing and see whats going on, this weekend im having to work so can't do it now, i will report back on what i find, could be a piece of trash or a loose fan fin im guessing...

Leaves and other debrie come in through the cowl. I installed the Cab Fresh Filter from Geno's when my truck was new and have had no problems. JMTCW

Its no big deal to drop the fan motor down and fish your hand around in the hole and scoop out as much pine needles and junk as you can. Thats how i found my ac leak when i scooped out a handfulls of oily UV dyed pine needles and junk.
