Hello everyone.

I've got a quick question for you. On my 01, the fan will not switch when you change the position (face, feet, combo). It is stuck blowing out at the feet all the time.

I had my evaporator core changed out under warranty a couple months ago, but this just happened, and the 36k warranty is up. The AC works and the fan changes speed, it's just the location of the air I'm having trouble with.

Do you know if this is controlled electracally or by vacuum. Is there something that could have worked loose, or a part that needs to be replaced.

Any help or guidence is appreciated. I want to fix it, but don't want to start tearing the dash apart with a little knowledge.

Thanks

Jrowe, it is controlled by vacuum. There are some little black plastic tubes that run over to the passenger side which operate your HVAC system. I would start looking here under the hood. Vacuum is supplied by the vacuum pump mounted behind the power steering unit.

Good luck, Vaughn

Had the same problem on mine. If no vaccum than it goes to defrost or floor. Found a broken tube right at pump. I replaced with factory as it was still under warrantee.

There is a thread where some folks used a brass 90 to repare.

Good luck

Mine was having the same problem and I found it to be the vacuum servo right in front of the shifter at the bottom of the HVAC system was sticking. It takes vacuum to this servo to keep the air on the floor. I bent up slightly on the servo unit so it would retract on it's own better. Mine was much worse in cold weather.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will look at all these possibilities this weekend.

If anyone else has had this problem or has any input, let me know.

Thanks
