The bearing that the fan hub runs in froze up and locked up the engine. I thought I had galled a piston or spun a bearing because at 65 mph it just shut the engine down. After contacting a dealer I found out they want $76 (dealer cost) for the bearing or $162 for the bearing and housing. I pulled the parts off the engine and did an internet search with the bearing number and it comes up as not available. I will check with Cummins tomorrow. Have any of you had this part fail? It gave no warning at all just froze up solid.

Mine didn't fail, but while tearing down the engine, I checked idlers & Bearings. This one was rough and noisey. I am headed to the local bearing supplier this afternoon. I'll let you know what I find out. I sure don't want to pay Dodges price if I can help it.

You have to go to a bearing house that handles NTN bearings. I got mine for $41. 00. The bearing # is DF0766LLUACS32 and is available through any authorized NTN distributor

Good luck,

Thanks for the part number. Unfortunatly I picked

one up from the Dodge dealer this morning and have

already pressed it on. I'll file this number away

in case I have any more problems.
