Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fan Shroud / Diagnostic Cable?

noticed what appears to be a diagnostic cable dangling underneath the fan shroud. What's it for? Is it supposed to be hanging out there in the mud and muck?!

If you dont have fog lights, it may be the plug for fog lights. My 2001 does not have fog lights, however the trucks come wired for them. My plug is driver side front under the fan/radiator, near where the fog light would be. Maybe this is it. I dont think that there are any diagnostic plugs in this area, but may be wrong.



The ECM plug is on the driver side near just infront of and under the fuel filter assembly.
