Hello, I am having an issue with my 2007 5.9. The A/C clutch will not engage, I did an Ohm check on the clutch and there is about 10 ohm's resistance so I believe it is ok but I am not sure what the reading should be. While checking codes I found that it had a code for the fan clutch and fan speed. The fan will turn by hand and free spin maybe a half turn. The part on the front of the fan seems loose, I can rattle it when I pull on the wires, I don't know if this is normal.

So I am wondering 2 things, if the part on the front of the clutch is rattling is the clutch bad and second will this prevent the A/C clutch from engaging. The the 2 combined parts will cost a little over $200 I don't want to just throw them at it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chuck

Just thought I'd follow up, the fan clutch and ac clutch are bad. The electrical part of the fan clutch was loose, moved in all directions.

I did another resistance test on the ac clutch, it had .7 ohms today, should be 3 to 5 per my research. I tried to manually engage it and it wouldn't with 12v from the battery. Ordered new compressor off of ebay, bought a new fan clutch from autozone.

Fyi, autozone will price match Amazon, autozone listed the fan clutch for $218, they matched Amazons price of $121.99.

Thanks all for you help.

Just remember on the fan clutch that if you have heating issues you will need to get the Mopar OE fan clutch to solve it. The Doorman's won't work correctly most of the time when towing.
