My fan speed selector switch decided to lose a couple of its settings. I now have low and high. Lost the two middle settings. Anyone torn into one of those switches to see if they are fixable? Or am I looking at spending some decent coin on replacing the entire integrated hvac switch unit?

RE: Fan Switch

Barry, My Ram truck is a "97" model, and when I lost all speeds but high, the

problem was "the fan motor resistor". it is located right next to the fan motor. Hope this helps, Glen Beaver,PA

Fan selector

YEs I have taken my heater slector apart and it has worked for awhile. Open it up to see if the little copper bus bars are heated? I have been ordering mine for a 2nd hand place and they work for 2 or3 years and are cheaper then what cryslurrr wants for theres. The only thing that is improtant to tell them is if you have heated mirrors. It is best that the cab temp is warm so to pry off the covering molding and then 4 ? screws to remove it then lift it out and there will be a plug for the vac lines and two? electrical plugs at the back. IT is alot easier to get at then the fan motor, I am toooo big for me to fit easily under there. :D
