The fan broke off the shaft and embedded in the radiator. I have replaced the radiator. fan and fan drive (or clutch). I could not find an 8 blade fan anywhere. I put on a 5 blade and it is working but not drawing enough air to cool the AC the high side pressure goes over 300psi and can't be used. Where might I be able to find the correct replacement fan or is there a possibility of adding an electric fan to help with the cooling and air flow. I have tried every junk yard and online fan companies I could find. The radiator temp seems to be fine at 190 where it always has been. Thank You for any help with this.

May not relate at all but I replaced the fan clutch on my 99 with one from Advance Auto Parts. When starting the truck and idling when cold the air would not work because apparently the viscous clutch was not engaging. After running the engine at 1500- 2000 RPM for a few minutes everything would be ok and the fan would be turning much faster at idle than before

I have tried numerous dealers aftermarket vendors junk yards and cannot find a fan anywhere that is the same as the original and will move enough air which is 5400CFM. The clutch is fine I just need the fan itself which is apparently a 2X8 Thanks Keith

Maybe Dodge discontinued the 8 blade and now the current offering is a 7 blade? My '01 has a factory 7 blade so I went to my Dodge source, Chrysler Factory Direct, Sussex, NJ and they show it still available but only 7 blade, for a 99 model, $60.

I just went out and checked my 99 (mfg 8/98) and it has a 7 blade fan. Bought the truck new so it is the original

Keith, it might be listed under Franklin Sussex Auto Mall (888-528-2200) I have an icon for it so I never look it up anymore.

I put on the Flex-A-Lite custom electric fan setup for out trucks - awesome piece. Frees up a lot of hp too - the stock fans draw significant power when that clutch locks up.

Hi Drag Racer Is your truck a diesel or gas that you put the Flex-A-Lite on. If a diesel can you tell me which Flex-A-Lite you installed. Thanks Keith

Rusty: in the interest of fair reporting...I live in Phx, so it is hot. I have driven in the summer with A/C on and the needle doesn't move off of 180. I have towed around town and to Tucson with them, but not in the heat of summer, and the needle does not move off of 180. So I have not reached the point of saturation yet due to lower airflow through the fans. I suspect towing hills like up to Flagstaff in the middle of a summer day would likely have some issues, but I try to avoid that.

Overall, love these fans!
