Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fan?

Who all is running without a fan on the Diesels and does it warm up better, any problems with engine overheating,took mine off today, havent used it yet.

Last year was my first season w/o the fan. I ran in some pretty warm weather without problems (maybe 65*)

I removed my fan as soon as i bought my 02 and installed a 18" electric fan on a toggle switch and on 90 plus degree days it would hit almost 200 in heavy stop and go traffic so this summer i am installing another one thats my experence for what its worth aaron

Ran all last winter without a fan on the "92,and just took it off last night. No problems to report,even last spring when it started to warm up.

Anyone noticed if removing the fan did any good for mileage?

It's hard to tell,because in the winter we are running winter blend fuel,and idling to warm up longer.

Aharrow, what make and size electric did you try and what are you goin to use now?

Aharrow, are you running the stock thermostat?

I am using 18" puller fan don't remember the brand just bought it at the local parts store i am still running the stock t-stat not sure what temp to run though any ideas on what to run i am going to try to fit anothe 18" fan but it looks like the shroud will have to be modified hope this helps Aaron
