Diesel Extravaganza at Schieds!

Central IN & ILL

Anyone have as much fun at Scheids this year as me? I won 2nd place at the Diesel Drags ( auto class ) I wonder what the actual number of trucks were there in Terra Haute. Awesome amount. WOW!Oo.

Schieds 2003

I had a great time there and taped the drags this year too, what color is your truck? The burnout contest was awesome also!!Oo.

There were alot of trucks there. I missed Muncie this year cause my truck was down longer than I expected for repair. But I'll give Scheid Extravaganza a thumbs up for what I saw. There was far more trucks there than I expected. I live just 10 miles north of Terre Haute so going both days was easy... but I missed the drags for family reasons. I got there on Saturday just as it was over :( .

Kinda made friends on Friday with one of the few if only 6. 0 Ford owners there. We watched the pulls on Friday. He was sort of down about Powerstroke pullers. The Dodges really shook the stands!! Real nice guy from New York who likes all diesel pickups. Great outlook on all the trucks there... not just the Fords.

I spent all morning Friday detailing my truck thinking I'd be among a group of Dodges and I'd have alot of folks looking at it. I knew from about a 1/4 mile away I was just going to be another truck in the parking lot :D . But thats a good thing!! So many nice trucks to look at... so little time to do it. Great turnout.

Hey Neil, I didn't see you there. I got there about 11:00 Sat and stayed til the end. It was a little dry most of the day but the pulls were a good time. I had planned on getting in on the action myself but had some problems with the rear differential and didn't feel it was worth the risk.

I looked for your truck a couple times but didn't see it. I figured it would be standing pretty tall against the skyline! We need to get together sometime... but not in the mud unless I can ride in yours :) . I didn't watch the pulls Saturday. Sorry I missed ya... I would have stayed for the pulls if I saw ya.

Drag Truck

Who has the black dodge ram 5-speed truck that seemed to lanch really good at the drag strip and haul some a$$? I kinda liked the yellow dodge with the service body, i didn't think the old getrag 5-speed could be shifted that easy and fast. Anybody in the manual class using the bd short throw shifter?Oo.

I sure had a blast! It was great to see everybody again and meet up with some new members as well. BTW, my wife commented on how super nice everybody was.

Perhaps next year I will try starting my run in the burn out contest..... in a forward gear..... :-laf :-laf :-laf

"undercoating" uh, yeah, yep, that must have been what I was doing... . LOL ;)

The smell only lasted until Ohio or so aon the way home Oo.

Ok, I need to know if that 92 W250 that smoked the competition Saturday, was actually a newer truck with an old body sitting on it? Either way it was great! I wouldnt mind transplanting an 03' HO in mine. Bill

When I saw that truck up close, at Muncie, it was a 2nd gen chassis with a 1st gen body. This is probably why there is room for the stacks between the cab and bed.
