FAQ entry suggestion

As a newb to diesel modding, I have been looking around the forum to educate myself on the various boxes/chips that are out there.

- Quadzilla

- Edge

- EZ

- TST

- VA (or was it VC?)

- Bully Dog



and I am sure that I am missing some.

Now some boxes are pressure only, other also alter duration, boost. And some include defueling if EGT is too high, etc.

Then, you can stack some of them in various combinations.



arrgggh. What a MESS!!!!! I've searched around and read about some of them, but I am having a hard time keeping them all straight.



So, I was wondering if we could put in one place in the FAQ a list of the available boxes for the 3rd gen, what they do, basic features, link to mfg.

Then a list of which boxes can be stacked with which.



All that information shoud be available in the brilliant minds that reside here, no?

SRICHARD-GOOD LUCK WITH WHAT EVER YOU DO FOR MODS,(sorry caps)with all hot&humid air va offers you may want to start with an aftermarket intercooler for the most dense,cool air you can get. you will put a box in and may think its not what "they" say for power&response just a thought good luck--LA p. s. -i dont know the weather round year,just visited norfork couple times in summer-hottt&huuumid!

That is an excellent idea IMO. Kinda like what the folks at www.siriusbackstage.com did on all the current PnP's here

YESS Matt. that's what I'm talking about. I'm not asking for someone to tell me what I should do since everyone will be biased towards whatever they picked.

I think it would be a good reference for all to use.

I'll try to start gathering the data today and post it as I find it - I was hoping that people who knew off the top of their heads could start giving the information in this thread.

Then we'll need a volunteer to put it in a nice table format and add it to the FAQ.

- Keeps rail pressures at safe levels

I finally found the document put together by DLeno. It is exactly what I was looking for, except that it seems to be about 6 months out of date.

Includes a matrix, and a writeup, very informative.



Now, if only it could be updated, and linked in the FAQ...

srichard-i hope you didnt think I was telling you what to do,(maybe i mis-understood your post response)i did some upgrades including a box,and after doing some more research I wish I had started with an intercooler because it IS an inportant upgrade when talking power,thats all. I'm not suggesting any brand of box
