Just joined... excellent site... my eyes are now killing me from scrolling through these forums... thanks :{ !

I didn't finalize the order for my Dodge yet (no money exchanged). Dealer ordered truck on handshake (good friend of family). How can I go about taking advantage of the farm discount? I read anybody can join. How????

Thanks! ;)

You can join Farm Bureau in your state and after being a member for 30 days get a coupon from your local office that allows a $500 discount off a Ram purchase. The dealer should honor the discount because it lowers their cost by the same amount.

The national bureau website is:

http://www.fb.org

Assuming you're in Jersey the state FB website is:

http://www.njfb.org

They should have a link for membership. In California I was able to call, give them a credit card, and get a membership number immediately starting the clock. Got my card about a week or so later.

I called my local county office after I got the card and they graciously sent me the certificate. The membership criteria is 45 days to qualify for the $500 "cash allowance".

If you're ordering a truck then it shouldn't be a problem as long as you join as soon as you order.

Hope that helps.

Need a certificate?

I have a truck on order, but has been held up since 1-30-04 for the 6 spd transmittion. I have joined the county farm bureau and have my membership card. I thought all I needed was the membership card. Do I need a certificate as well? My truck is now supposed to be built 2nd week of March. My bureau membership took 6 weeks to get, so if I need something I probably better get started;)

I am holding the certificate in front of me.

In the terms and conditions section:

"7. This Dodge Farm Bureau Bonus Certificate must be presented to an authorized U. S. Dodge dealer at the time of retail purchase or lease. Minimum lease term is 12 months. "

"9. Farm Bureau members must have this certificate validated by their Dodge dealer. Validation must include an authorized Certificate Validation Number, and the authorizing Dodge dealership representative must complete the reverse side of this certificate. New members joining the Farm Bureau may qualify for this certificate only if they have been a member in good standing for at least 45 days prior to the date this certificate is issued. "

Sounds like you definitely need the certificate. It doesn't look like you can wing this one. I wouldn't risk going in without it for the $500 bucks. That'll pay for my gooseneck hitch and a couple of fillups.

It's very easy to get the certificate from the local FB office-they have to call DC and tell them what you are buying/ordering-and they get some kind of control number-I got mine after I placed the order, but he knew I was doing it to...

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, my ride should be hear on the 23 so I won't meet the 45 day new member rule. :(

I'll keep this in mind for my next Dodge! :D

My dealer had the DC forms for the FB, made a copy of my membership card, made sure I was a member for 30 days, that was it.

FYI - the membership requirement is going up to 45 days soon, sof if you plan on placing an order, join up ASAP! :D

Do you own a business? You can also qualify for a business discount of $300. 00. You can't do both, but you can do one or the other. $300. 00 is not bad, you could easily get a business name and registration before the vehicle shows.

Do it anyway, all it takes is a little delay on your truck and you'll be on the money.

Actually I do but wasn't aware of any business rebate. I'll ask the dealer next time I stop in.

Thanks! I owe u lunch KD7!!! ;)

In October it took 30 days of membership to qualify. In NV, associate membership (meaning not a farmer who will use all the services) is $15/year. I also looked on websites for a few other states, and cost varies with state and county.

"rkelso98 - Couldn't get the Farm Bureau discount AND 3% below invoice. Has anybody else gotten both discounts?"

I don't know how to quote the way I have seen others do it, but I got 1% below invoice and the farm bureau. Of course, the truck is not in and therefore the deal is not done, but that is the agreed to price.
