Anyone install a 1/2" pick-up tube with a FASS 150 gph, and where did you put it on the tank, I got mine with no instuctions, and had to rack my brain on the install, just trying tosee if I insatlled it in the right location, can't get in touch with DPP no number I have is good for them, and has anyone routed your FASS back thru your original filter housing so as to use the heater for your fuel, thoughts please

Call these folks, daves diesel Ph# 1-800-654-4715 ask for rick. He is the guy who installed the Fass system and larger pickup tube in my tank. Good folks to deal with. coobie :)

hotram, get ahold of Joe (UnderwoodTire) he has a number for them, called them on Monday for my Edge w/ Attitude. He can give it to you, if you need his number, let me know and I'll give it to you.

sorry guys took awhile to get back on this thread, well I got a 1/2" pick-up installed in my tank, done it myself, about 35. 00 cost, now truck experiencing major cavitation problems along with fuel pressure drops to near 0 and 0 and staying there, had the smaller check ball and new o-rings sent to me installed last nite will test drive today shortly will see what this does for the fuel pressure problems now, will keep you posted, oh and by the way the 1/2" pick-up if mounted in the stock pick-up and return hole is about 2"-2 1/2" too short, installed factory rail pressure return into Aux hole in tank top, works great for return from rail log, sucks on being out of fuel at an 1/8th tank, will keep posting on this topic, going to measure and get pipe cut to better length then let DPP know

For the cost of the FASS they should be packaging the the check ball and o-rings with the product when you buy it so your truck isn't down. Like the idea of the 1/2" pick up

I was wondering what's going on with my FASS. I had it installed with the big lines, not sure how they did it. But when I get to 1/8 tank, my fuel pressure starts going from 20psi to 4psi and back. I originally thought it was something with the wiring or the pump, but after two tanks I figured out it was related to fuel level.

I think this sucks. I personally hate fueling up, now I'm going to have to do it more often.

1/2" pick up

I was looking at the new posts and came across this post. I have a second gen truck and have made this mod. If you do a search on fuel modules there are alot of people who have done this mod to there fuel module.

I have a FASS 150 in my truck and when I installed it noticed that the quick disconnect that came with the FASS had a . 240 I. D. Later after pulling the module from the tank there is another . 240 restriction inline to the FASS. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see the problem here, a powerful diesel engine fed through 2ea. . 240I. D. restrictions.

This whole system is very poorly engineered to say the least. I have modified my sons module also and it makes a difference, my FASS is very quiet now and pressure is much more constant.

The VP44 is also cooled by returned fuel, this warm to hot fuel was dumped right on top of the fuel pick up in the module on second gen trucks, so it picked up hot fuel and sent it back to the VP44. I re-routed the return to fix this, like I said this whole fuel supply system is a joke on the second gen trucks. I hope that your 3rd gen systems are somewhat improved.

The only negative is what JCleary said you do have to fill up sooner, but I feel with a little digging around this can be fixed as well.

Is this a simple fix by running a longer pickup tube? I haven't gotten into the fuel system yet, so not really sure how everything is layed out.

:( Alright sorry to get back on this thread late again but here we go, the check ball and o-rings are part of warranty issues, I suppose they are doing this with all newly purchased systems, or atleast I hope so. I didn't recieve any instructions with my new fuel pump pick-up so I did the best I could on mounting, well I was wrong and have to do it again now that I have instructions and I put it in the wrong place, the pump pressure is going from 16-17 to 0, on some trucks the new check ball cures this problem, on some that is noisy with the 150 gph pump the new 1/2" pick-up cuts noise in half, and it did it on mine not at all as loud as it was, will change pick-up mounting area and mount according to the instructions and will respost, right now I suffer from ram-fass burnout, so it will be a few days

Alright took a minute to get the urge to fix truck, done it tonight. Moved pick-up to correct mounting location as per instructions(The ones I didn't get to begin with) my pump noise is almost none, its alot quieter, gauge pressure steady at 16. 5 psi, pick-up is now 3/16th's from tank floor, check pump upon removal of tank(used it to drain tank) it was cavitating BAD, pump some fuel then an air pocket, checked upon reinstallation, to bled out air, pumped nothing but fuel, will drive tomorrow, but idle was excellant, guess I should have waited for instructions, that I didn't have to begin with, but Jannetty Racing came thru for me and I hope I'm back on track.
