2006 3500 Mega Cab 132k miles. Here's the situation. I just had installed a FASS 150gph fuel pump, and the engine check light comes on with the error code that indicates that the Battery Temp Sensor either malfunctioned or is bad. Replaced the left side sensor yesterday (not the right side, mechanic didn't know there were two, as error code description/resolution spoke of left side only), this morning same engine check light / error code situation. The two batteries appear to be original, so 5 or 6 years old. The local mechanic believes it could be that the FASS has a significantly higher draw on the batteries, and may be causing them to over heat (perhaps new batteries would fix). The only other recent changes were, I added a fuel pressure gauge and finally had the block heater cord connected. Any ideas?

I apologize in advance if this thread belongs in the No Engine/Transmission forum.

I think your mechanic is way off base with his theory. Also, I think you only have one battery temp sensor (others will correct me if I'm wrong). I would have the battery's load tested individually. This means you'll need to disconnect them.
Also, at some point back about 05, there was a flash for nuisance battery temp codes (among other things) and your truck may be affected.
