Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fass 95 longevity/cold weather???

Does the fass 95 (pump not the whole system) have a place to run coolant lines through for cold weather? Does it have a pre-filter or screen? What kind of life does the 95 have?

Just put one on my1 truck. LOVE IT 15PSI all the time.

To answer your question no it has no connection to circulate coolant. I think this thing could pump jello.

I thought they all has a provision so ou could circulate coolant through them.



I don't know why you would want to, by the time the coolant is getting up to the the truck will be running fine and I don't think the fuel temperature would be an issue at that point. Also I don't know that I would want 180 coolant heating the fuel. I'm sure there is an optimum temp for fuel and IIRC it was less than 180 degrees as there was some talk about a fuel coolers at one time on a performance applications.

What about the pre-filter? I have a Walbro-392 and it keeps icing up when it gets cold so I’m thinking of switching to a FASS

If you're going to run a "pre filter", to the Fass, make it a "post filter" instead. I used to run a pre filter to my carter pusher because it was a POS and I wanted to prolong it's life. Fass "filtered" pumps are "post" pump filtered and that's where I relocated my filter after installing the 95/95 pump only.
