2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Who to buy from?

Just wanted to post a positive review of the FASS DDRP. I just put it on my truck, along with the Vulcan Relocation Kit. Parts from Genos, as usual fast shipping, good prices and great customer service. The instructions that came with the DDRP weren't as complete and accurate as I expected, but this is a very simple setup, so that is ok.

The pump and relocation kit install took me a couple hours. I was getting 12psi at idle and 5psi at WOT with a carter pump less than a year old. The DDRP gives me 22psi and I haven't seen less than 17psi at WOT. Wow, such a great improvement. No more worries about starving the VP44.

I think it is great FASS put out the DDRP for those of us that needed an inexpensive but quality upgrade to the lousy OEM fuel pump. I would highly recommend it for anyone on the fence about a fueling upgrade. I'll keep my carter pump as a hot swap backup just in case I have a failure on the road.

Thanks for posting, analog. I need to go that route. I've still got the carter on the engine (13psi idle / 7psi wot), but this would be a good PM. Do you have any of the original restrictive banjo bolts still in the system? Any reason to go with the big-line kit? I'm thinking the DDRP and a set of RV275's might be a good combo for me hauling my camper and toys around.

I see we've got the same truck.

Nothing changes between the filter and the VP44, there are banjo bolts in that line I believe. But, with the relocation kit and new pump, all banjo bolts behind the filter are removed. I plan to go with the RV275s also and am hoping finances allow a Smarty in the not too distant future. FASS claims 30% flow improvement over the Carter pump, and I have to think that is plenty of fuel even with the modest upgrades I have planned. I looked at the big line kit and just didn't see the necessity of it.

The engine makes plenty of power now, but it is always fun to have more on tap. I'm currently in the phase of getting rid of all the weak links in the trunk... Inverted T front end, South Bend clutch, FASS DDRP, etc... I'm about done and can start spending funds on pure enjoyment items.

10-4 on the banjo's. I believe my fp gage comes off the banjo bolt on the VP44 already. I've read mixed reviews of the DDRP, but glad to hear your experience has been a good one.

We're thinking along the same lines. I'm tinkering on weak links as well - getting ready for another Alcan trip. I put a Con OFE in last fall also. I've got 160k miles and just starting to worry about the front end a little. Tons of info on this forum. I'd like to hear more of this inverted T setup, DSS, etc. You can PM me sometime if you have a few minutes to spare, as I don't want to get this thread too far off track. Later.

Guys,

The DDRP will not support increased fuel. I have been there done that. Call FASS they will tell you. I thought I could get away with the DDRP with 50hp inj. and Edge Comp. I had to replace it 95gph FASS. Also check with Scott at Geno`s.
