Got a question for everyone... I went upstairs tonight and heard the FASS on my truck running out in the garage. The truck was off. I went out and undid the harness from the pump cause its 2 am and I dont want to mess with it but I will tomorrow. Any ideas on where to start?

I know this dont help but that would drive me insane and i would pull my harness off too! we get annoying comments about our "winch" aka a fass pump all the time cuz its so loud.

i feel your pain

Wow, I just recieved the new quiet version. Night & day difference, but now I have to really listen close to make sure its running before starting the rig. There is something to be said for being able to hear your lift pump and if it sounds normal.

Well after a 2 1/2 hour adventure... I went through everything checked the wiring... blah, blah. I couldn't find anything wrong. I checked all the wires, I couldn't find any shorts.

I was meaning to put a gauge coming off the FASS so I did that at the same time, bumped up my idle psi a bit, and changed the filters. What a pain in the *** that was to get it primed and started again. I did have the lines open for a long time though... I ended up cracking the line at the IP.

The FASS wont come on to prime the pump every now and then. I am thinking that my relay is staring to puke out on me. It does sound like a winch running when the truck isn't on but once it starts it is hard to hear (between the radio and the drain pipe exhaust) so I don't mind. It better keep working for now as this was my only day to mess with it for a while. Maybe Diesel Dan could send me a harness to be nice???? I have the 6 yr warranty so I hope that its covered if I end up needing one... thats all I got for now. I was surprised to hear that at 2 am though...

Well my FASS is acting up again. I am almost positive that it is the relay in my harness that is causing my problems. Hey Diesel Dan is there a way to workout getting a new harness? Please PM me asap. I am trying to sell the truck and now I cant sell it until this issue is resolved. Thanks in advance...

fass and noise

Hello to All

I found that the fuel trying to come from the tank in to the fass thru the stock pick up make the fass loud, change the dip tube and the loud pump issue goes away.

Dodge has a problem with undersizing the fuel lines on the diesel trucks in my opinon.

After I changed the dip tube on my truck to a . 430 SS Tube FROM THE STOCK . 250 I can't hear the pump running . If the engine is off the pump sounds like a normal pump not the loud fass unit it once was.

hope this helps
