Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fass direct replacement pump filter

When I installed my FASS direct replacement pump it had me install a filter between the tank and the pump, but it did not give information on how often the filter should be changed. Can anyone tell me how often I should change the filter?

If it's that little canister type, oil change intervals would probably work. Keep an eye on your fuel pressure, if it drops, change the filter. Tdhey aren't very big so keep a couple of spares onboard. I mounted a Fleetguard FS1034 (IIRC) before my pump. I changed it at 35,000 miles. Cut it open and it was clean. It has the same media as the one Fass said to use. About 140 micron stainless steel screen.
