Fass filters, where do you get them?

where do you guys buy your replacement filters? What are you paying?

Is there any cross reference numbers for like a wix filter?

I was not able to find a way to order an HF6604 from www.fleetguard.com.



I did order an HF6604(3 Micron) from www.fleetguardfilters.com. I order it on 3/8. Called on Friday because had not got any ship confirmation. Seems the filter is on back order from Fleetguard.



I have been trying to buy one for about 6 weeks now.

I stopped at my local Cummins Southern Plains, Ltd. dealer to get the HF6604 filter about a month ago. Parts guy said they don't carry stock on that filter and that they had never sold one out of that location. He said he could order one, but was not sure how long it would take based on what he saw on the computer inventory.



I thought no problem, I will just order one online and that would be easier. Not so far. .

There is no one single filter for the FASS--you've got to decide which micron rating you want (3, 6, 10, 12, etc). The 3 micron rated HF6604 mentiond by JVolpe and steved always seems to be a royal pain to find and is very expensive when you do find them. It's much easier to find the higher micron rated filters, like 10 or 12 or so. I believe that's what PDR carries, and that's what I ended up getting. I'd love to get the 3 micron rated ones, but 10 is just fine.

I got a pair of Baldwin BT-8509MPG (I found out MPG is maximum performance glass... ) which is equal to the HF6607... easy to get... I order them and they were in an a couple days. I have an HF6604 on the truck now and another one to replace it... then I'll run the Baldwins.



The absolute easiest filter to get for the FASS is the Wix 51202, which is also a 5 micron filter, but I do not know the efficiency of this filter anymore... it is also very cheap at $15/filter... I carry one of these in the truck for emergencies since they are cheap...
