Hey guys. I’m heading for some very high altitude camping soon and expect some below freezing temps at night. Also expecting to get some really low quality diesel fill ups. My question to you all is if you think maybe I might need some fuel heaters for my FASS system. I see from their website they have two different styles. They have a probe and also a ring that looks like it screws onto the filter housing? Anybody using these? If I’m not below like 20 degrees Fahrenheit are they necessary? I’m also thinking about just not turning off the truck at night. I also have a Honda generator I could crank up in the morning and plug in my block heater. Does that help much? Not very experienced in cold weather camping. Thanks for the replies.

Personally I would get the fuel heaters, but in the 20's you would be fine just dosing you fuel with a winterizing additive too.

Thanks. Unfortunately I won’t have access to additives and the fuel is notorious for bad quality.

Yes I would use a fuel heater, I have had my fuel gel when using big metal filters such as Fass even with additives until I put a heater on it then no more issues.

I forgot to ask if you'll have access to 110V when parked. On my steel aux tank I use a magnetic heater, Stick it on the 65 gal tank plug it in and it keeps everything toasty. I also use Espar heater I hate getting in a cold truck.
