I saw the add in the current issue of TDR #47 on page 170. It talks about the FASS fuel pump. It's a stand alone pump without the fuel/air seperator. Has anyone tried this pump? Is it a good alternative to the factory lift pump? Does it bypass the lift pump all together? Not sure I understand what all these things do. Is it the same thing as a pusher pump? I don't really want to spend the money on the FASS or the RASP, but if this will improve the stock pump, then it's worth the $360. Thanks for the help.

pricing

here is the site for the new fass. Go to msrp pricing and scroll down to the second list of prices, that is the pump only. Looks like $369. Wish they would have had it a year ago, looks nice!! If you have any questions, call their number and ask for Brad, he is great at helping you!!!

:cool: I have one of the new FASS pumps only. Got it at the end of DEC. 04. Little bit before Christmas. I got it because the stock lift pump crapped out and it was a lot cheaper than the RASP. If you have the money i think the RASP is the way to go.

The pump is easy to install, but had mine installed because it was in the single digits outside here in the northeast.

I am currently getting 11psi after the fuel filter. Talked to Brad at DPP and he doesn't like those numbers and wants to see around 14- 16 psi. He has been working on the problem and has just sent me a new spring for it. Have not received the spring yet but as soon as i get it and install it i will give everyone an update. Brad also has a larger fuel line to help out that goes between the fuel canister and VP44, to help with pressure.

I have the 95gph unit and Brad at DPP says it is good up to about 450 hp.

I expected these minor problems because the unit was brand new and just released when i got it, but it was a lot cheaper then some of the other systems.

So far i am happy and will be happier when i put the new spring in.

Just installed mine and I'm getting 20psi at Idle and 16psi at WOT with the box on Kill. . Is 20psi too much?

i just finished installing mine today and I am getting 11 psi at idle. I can't get it below 8 so far at WOT. 20 is high. I'm not sure if that is a bad thing, but that is a high pressure. I am going to see about getting another spring to get it up to 15 psi. I just had the spring out 30 minutes ago. I wish i had the new one to put in at the time :{

Junior, let me know what your pressures are when you get yours installed. I also want to change the line from the filter to the VP44. I have enough hose left (shortbed truck) so I might do that before I go after another spring. I know my fuel filter is due to be changed also.
