Installed fuel pump about 3 weeks ago, and everything was running great. Saturday morning went to work, again everything running great. Went to go to lunch and when I turned on accessories and Wait To Start came on, no FASS. Found out that it was the 30 Amp fuse that is directly off the FASS wiring harness closest to the motor. Went to FASS website and followed the troubleshooting guide. Made sure that the ground was good, made sure that there are no places in the FASS harness that are worn or exposed. FASS sight says that it might be debris in the FASS motor. Followed the instructions on FASS websight for clearing debris. Still pops the fuse, sounds like the FASS motor is under more strain than it should be. Got a tow home Sat. night, and drained the fuel seperator and filter. When I replaced the fuse again and turned on the acc. to prime the pump, sounds like everything sounds good. let the pump prime up a little, fired the truck up... with a little hesitation. Shut it down, again turned on Acc. pump still sounds good. let pump run for about thirty sec. then fired the truck up. With the truck idling again for about 45 sec. the fuse popped again. I noticed that there was a SLOW leak (not dripping, but wet) on the return on the pump. Pulled that line thinkin that its plugged up somehow, and a bunch of fuel spills out, almost like it was under pressure. Thats where I left it.
Now, trying to get ahold of my dealer. Seems as though he has made his money, and is too busy to bother with me. I know that this pump is overkill on my truck, but my goals are 600-700 hp and didn't want to buy the pump twice. I tried calling FASS, they tell me to get ahold of my dealer...
I know that Diesel-Dan frequents this site, I would appreciate any help.
