I just bought a 98. 5 QC that has a FASS HPFP 95 on it. Bought it in MO and drove it to CO, no problems at all, but the pump did seems noisy.

Yesterday afternoon the pump just quit working all together. According to the PO, it is 4 months old and has been replaced once already (and has a 3 year warranty according to him). I checked the power, it has what looks like the DPP wiring harness with one relay, the relay is working, and I bypassed it to give the pump 12V directly and still no difference. The fuse is OK. The negative is directly hooked to the battery and the weep hole is pointed down.

I DL'd the troubleshooting manual from DPP's website and it says to tap on it, so I bonked it *(technical term here... LOL) several times with a deadblow and still nothing.

Occasionally it will make a really weak sound like it's trying to pump on initial key on, but only very occasionally.

There is a small filter between the tank and pump unit, but the pump is not turning at all so I don't believe that the filter is clogged.

What have I missed here? I don't have a dealer to talk to about this issue since I didn't put the pump on the truck.

Thanks,
Joe

Ok, I disconnected all of the wiring and put new ring terminals on the power and ground and ohmed everything out. Didn't find anything wrong in the wiring harness, but the pump works fine now. Must have been one or both of the ring terminals had bad connections. It is still really loud though, (as loud as the pump in the first post of the thread in your sig). Do I qualify to send my pump in for the mods, and what can I do (if anything) for warranty work in the future? Serial # on the pump is 04469.

Thanks,
Joe
