I am looking for some feedback on the fass and airdog fuel systems on fuel mileage. fass claims a 8% increase and was wondering if anyone had experienced a gain or loss in mileage and also power it should help me at WOT. presently i get about 17mpg@65 which is not for my truck i think.

I have never seen any noticeable mileage gain on any of the trucks I have running an Airdog. They do run a bit smoother than they used to, and pressure is constant; but no mileage gain to speak of... :{

Quieter - yes
Smother - yes
mpg gain or loss - no
WOT - BIG difference. (probably has something to do with the injector pump actually having fuel available to drink rather than suck. I hold a solid 13psi at WOT.

I was thinking of trading up in years but I think I'm going to just keep on with the '02 as I've been seeing a lot of new model owners saying the same thing about milage..... and 17mpg empty @ 65 is 5 mpg less than I currently get.

I put my Fass on around the same time they came out with the ulsd fuel. My mileage went down but it's probably due to the fuel.

The increase is typically negligible or not noticeable... you won't notice it unless you really trend your mileages... tank to tank mileages vary more than the increase.

I believe I saw around 0. 5mpg, maybe a little less.

i have had 3 airdogs an have had problems with all three... . do your research befor deciding which one to get... . im in the process of taking my 4th one off an going with a diff pump

I havent add the AD 150 long enough yet to get mpg numbers have only ran one tank full. The engine is running smoother and a little quiter. I have been averaging 17-19mpg daily mixed driving around CA SF Bay area with a max of couple hundred pounds of tools and windsurfing kit in the bed.

I can't report any real gains. I have a reliable pump that will handle 450hp and better fuel filters that don't need to be changed as often. You will see a gain when towing as the longer you can stay in top gear the better milage you will get. You get better atomization and more accurate timing without the air in the fuel. Our trucks maybe don't aerate the fuel that much to see a huge increase. Big difference on VP trucks and on Cummins 855's but the fass increases line pressure with the PT fuel system so that accounts for some of the power/milage on those units.

CMChristensen, are you aware of why you have had so many failures? Just curious.
