New Fass Pump

Warn Tabor 9K = Junk

I've been having problems with my FASS serial # 194 (95 series, no filter) so I decided to go through with the upgrade, since I have travel plans coming up. Truck has been down all week, today I received a package from Diesel Performance Products. I thinking great I can swap out the pumps tomorrow and be back up running. Open up the box and I received a FASS HPFP without any brackets, just the pump. Well this pump will not directly swap out with my pump. I checked on line for the installation manual, and the HPFP has a different bracket all together from what I have.

To say I am livid is an understatement, I'm P!$$&@, I have plans to drive out of state between Christmas and New Years and wanted to take the truck.

I know some how this is my fault, I just haven't figured that part out yet.

I was supposed to leave on the 26th. How am I supposed to get my truck up and running before then with what I have now?

I am sitting here just shaking my head in disbelief.

Merry Christmas everybody!

Numbly,

Casey

Well today I pulled the old FASS off, and tightened everything up, put it back on and it still leaks. I need to do something and fast. A carter pump (anyone know a part # for our trucks, mine is an '02) was suggested for the trip and to deal with DPP when I get back. I'll try to figure out something tomorrow to get the truck up and running.

Getting a little closer to Christmas. Hope all of your's are happy ones.

Id try to find a auto parts store a slap a holly blue on for now, most most all parts stores around here carry the holly line, but any fuel pump would most likely get you running again.

I found my local auto parts had the holley blue, my neighbor helped me with the install, we had to fab up a bracket to mount it back by the tank by the FASS. Seems to be working good enough to make my trip. I'll deal with DPP when I get back from the holidays. I don't want to go through this again, ever.

Well, all's well that ends up getting me to my destination on time.

Now to take a hot shower and have some Christmas cheer.

Thanks to Bob4x4 and AScholting with helping screw my head on and get 'er done!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Tiredly,

Casey

No reply from the FASS Customer support?

Just another reason I wouldnt buy one again. Customer service has really dropped off the past few years, wonder why?

I've been dealing with Rip at Source Automotive to get this straightened out. Rip is the kind of guy that will take care of you and go the extra mile to do so.

Everything is going to be fine, my trip is over with no problems, Christmas has come and gone, and I love my truck!

Thanks Rip and Diesel Dan.

Just because i dont reply on a thread, it doesnt mean i am takeing care of the issue outside of this forum... ... ...

Geez. . Give the guy a break. How is he to know there would even be a post on a problem out here?

Just to add another story about customer care from ppl, I called on a problem where my pump wouldn't turn and was 900 miles from home. Dan gave me instructions to crack the bolts to get the thing running again and tighten it backup. It was the day before Thanksgiving and I was worried I'd have to rig up the stock system (dropping the tank etc. . ) anyway, I think these guy's are great. busy but they are great.
