Hydraulic Upgrades for SBC DD

Twins hot pipe.Wrap or double wall?

On my last trip, I noticed my fuel pressure was erratic, 0-14 psi. Not gradual, either all or none, then it went to 0psi. I had had problems with the Diprocol mech gauge when first installed, so I didn't think to much of it. Thought I might have had air in the line, loose fitting, etc.

Got home and started diagnosing, bumped the starter and the FASS was silent. I went through the electrical system and everything seemed to be working fine, I was getting voltage back to the FASS. I call Brad for help troubleshooting, he suggested that I pull the plastic caps from the motor and remove and clean the brushes off, they may be sticking. I did and one of them was jammed in place, but a few taps popped it out. Cleaned them with steel wool and replaced, the FASS fired right up, 14 psi. I have had the FASS on for about 3 months and hadn't had any trouble until this. Brad sent a new set of brushes and asked that I pull them in another three months to check for wear.

Thanks to Brad, he was nothing but helpful and has a genuine concern on the ongoing reliability. That gives me a lot of confidence in his product.

A lesson I learned for all us, gauges are the most important mod we can do, but if you don't believe them, you might as well drive with your eyes closed.
