heres the problem, i have a 34 gal tank an today i ran out of fuel, but when i filled up it only took 30 gal so i still had 4 gal left. the low fuel light never came on . is their something w/ the fass that does not allow it to utilize all 34 gals?this has happened 3 or 4 times now. before the fass i could get 32 0r 33 gal in her when the feul light came on. things are diff. now why??????????has one onehad this happen ?please advise

Could be that the tank doesn't hold that much.

It also might be the FASS could be foaming the fuel to the point it won't pump??

Mine will pump right down to nothing...

129 l comes out to 34 gal. those of you w/ the fass how much feul have you had to put in?also have much fuel is sup. to be left in the tank when the fuel light first comes on?

something is not right here ,i only had 4 gal in the tank an light never came but truck shut off. who has run out before an how many gallons did it take to fill up?

It's been like this since day one. I have driven over 1 hour on the highway before tanking up after the light came on. I thought it was strange but it is normal on my truck.

Its not a tank baffel but the fuel module in the tank for fuel level and pickup line are metal on the older trucks. There has been a upgraded part that is plastic and will not rust causing the suction line to rust or crack leaving you with less useable fuel. My truck ran dry while ion the 1/8 line I put in 5 gallons and was able to reprime and start the truck I will be changing the tank pickup metering module in the near future. I was warned about 3 or 4 months back by the owner of Extream Diesel here in Jersey when they repaired a bad o ring on my FASS system.

If I fill up as soon as the light comes on, it takes about 27 galons. I have driven it way down in to the red ( not a good idea, I'm sure) and never put more than 31 gallons in.

MY truck does the same thing since I installed my FASS. I think the FASS is recirculating so much fuel that I cant pump it.

If I run until I am on empty on the fuel gauge and fill up I can only put in about 27 gallons even though the truck has a 34 gallon tank. I always assumed this was reserve fuel to provide cooling and lubrication for the vp-44 as well as prevent starving it due to running the truck out of fuel. I have never substantiated this it is just an assumption.

I noticed my 98. 5 would fluctuate the Fuel Pressure guage while at around 1/4 tank and parked (front up) on a steep hill.

My wife had a hard start, (actually didn't start). I allowed it to roll down onto a flat surface, started right up.

Never did know why.
