Oo. how many people have had trouble with the fittings on there pump? the one i just installed broke the fitting on the return line side(the one that has a 3/8 nipple on it)---, it just pulled right out. i have had this happen a few times now---whats the deal, poor quality?

Maybe a mention in the instruction manual about that fitting would be helpful. Of course, you are probably swapping springs out again, so it is on its 3rd or 4th re-torque and the manual hasn't been consulted since the initial install, so that wouldn't help in this case. About 8 to 10 ft lbs of torque, if that, is all that fitting is designed to need to make a seal. It is a very soft brass sealing surface and is meant to be smashed against the nipple to make a seal. Ask it to take 50 ft lbs of torque so it doesn’t leak and that is what happens every time. That fitting should be accompanied with a tag that says "WARNING DO NOT OVER TORQUE WITH UNCALIBRATED MAN-HANDS" :-laf

haha, im not that stupid--18lbs is what it calls for, this was on a customers truck not mine. i thredded it on by hand and it came apart. wierd huh. oh well got another one and im good to go now. :-laf

I have not heard any about this issue. We have 1000's of thoes fittings and have never had one do what you said. BUT i will make a note and check in to it. Just watch your torque when you do tigthen it up... . takes a lot less than what you would think. But i will look at our fitting a bit closer tom... thanks for bringing this to my attention...

dan i appritiat your response, you may also want to look into the pump bodys leaking----looks like there is no gasket where there should be one, so its leaking---and on its way back to you very soon. thanks

We have noted a small amt of pumps in the recent past (SINCE i have been hired 4 weeks ago!!) leaking from the weep hole in the motor base. We found the cause to be the seal bore slightly larger that was originally spec'ed. This was allowing fuel to slowly seep by the seal on the outside. We have since corrected this issue and retested several units to confirm this was the fix!! haha... . The only repair to date is to replace the Motor and Motor Base.



Part numbers:



FASS 95 GPH: RP-1001

FASS 150 GPH: RP-1002

HPFP 95 GPH: RP-1001-HPFP

HPFP 150 GPH: RP-1002-HPFP



Your Dealer should be able to call us with these part numbers and get the replacement part. WE DO REQUIRE A RMA # ON EVERY RETURN THAT IS SENT TO DPP FOR TESTING..... NO RMA, RETURN TO SENDER. (I get returns with NO information on them at all!!!) Please remind your dealer to ask for this only if you decide to send in your unit for testing!!! On the wnty motors, we require a core of $350. 00 if we are to send a replacement unit before the defective unit is returned to us to test. This is immediately refunded upon confirmation of the issue. If we repair a non core, RMA'ed unit in house... . there is no charge.



ALSO to note... we use a light oil to lube the seal prior to installing the motor base on the motor shaft. Some times this oil flows out of the weep hole when the unit gets warm. This should only be the first few days and be brown in color. My suggestion is to wipe and recheck. It should stop after a day or so... depending on the amt of oil.



ANY leaks at the junctions of the T-block, motor base with T-block, or Pressure outlet on the FASS base are field repairable and VERY easy to fix. Your dealer has access to all of our O-ring/gasket part numbers... . if they dont..... have them call ME. If your wnty is current, this is no cost to you. All 1/4" bolts accessible to the customer are torqued to 110 In/Lbs.
