Hello PLaFrombois

Sure you can use the Transfer-Flow tank

the line would work also just harder to tap back in to

what the shops are doing around here is running the new line -6 or 3/8 hose up to the stock filter housing for more filtering .

my thoughts are that those filters work fine but the flow is not matched to the fass pump, air dog, etc. when running vegetable oil as fuel.

if running diesel then you will be fine

good luck

I would NEVER spend another dime on ANY product FASS makes.

The one that was on my 12v truck in the 4 years I owned it was shipped back to FASS once a year due to the motor failing. Thank goodness for 7 year warranties when I bought it. The one thing that really upset me about the entire deal was when it did fail,if you didn't send the entire assembly back and just wanted the replacement motor, you were charged for that motor until the old one was shipped back. That itself would not have been an issue except for how long it took you to get you credit money back when they received the pump motor.

Then, right after I bought my CR the FASS on it failed and its was new and had less than 2000 miles on it. Since I was the second owner it was removed and replaced with a AirDog DF165.

Loud FASS

I'll have to look and see when I bought my FASS... if the warranty is still good I'll see if they can replace my motor... It's so loud you can hear it running in the cab with the engine at idle !!!

hello to all

loud motors and old fass units go hand in hand even the new ones are loud but if you make your own mount and think about why they make noise, rubber mount them then you dont have to turn the radio up louder.

again most of the noise is the pump Cavitation the supply line from the tank is way to small the pump has 1/2 npt the tank has less then 1/4 inch id line coming out of the tank this is a dodge problem not a cummins problem.

this will cause motor failing and lack of fuel.

hope this helps

CJ Hall, I will have to take that into consideration. Is the tank pickup kit the one that is available from FASS? My tank is a PITA to get to because I have a flatbed with underbody tool boxes on it. It was a pain just to remove and reinstall the suction line. My FASS unit is loud also, but I test fired the unit before hooking the line onto the injection pump and it flows a LOT of fuel. I did not use the cheesie rubber mount supplied with the unit because it did not seem like it would be held stable and would cause the bolts to work loose. I do want to add the heater hose to the unit and maybe the electric heat later. Overall, it looks like a very well made unit.

I have not seen the fass one the I have made a few myself using ss tube and bulkhead fittings from SSP but they get pricey the last one was made from bulkhead jic fittings and pushlock hose fittings all from parker around 30. 00 dollars,

yes its a pita when you have to get to the tank your setup makes it worse

the rubber mount they use is not realy rubber mounting I would call it rubber sandwich true rubber mount work great you were smart not to use it.

sounds like you got it installed glad it works good

It works great! I got all my vehicles up and going now. Had a FILTHY MAP sensor on the Liberty and a nearly failed belt tensioner on the '96, plus the failing transfer pump on the '03. None of my junk was reliable! The FASS seems to work well, but it is noisy when rigidly mounted. I will come up with a better rubber isolator and use some "nylock" nuts for it. I may look into that hose system. Did you just drill through the tank cap, where the fuel lines go in? It may be best for me to drop the dern tank to do mine.
