Fass Fuel System

What size of fuel line comes with this kit? Where can a person buy a a larger pickup tube to mount in the fuel tank to make sure it sucks as much fuel as the electric pump can take?

The Tube going down to the bottom of the tank is 3/8" basically. I'd just remove the screen mesh inside the tank at the bottom of the pickup and you'll suck as much fuel as you'll need. Thats what I did.

I have heard this system only has about 25 PSI. Sounds great for 24 valve, but what about Hi-Po 12 valves?

I'm running 60 PSI right now, and the thing finally seems to run the way it always should have, hate to lose the extra pressure.

How are these systems holding up, Brad?

Sled Puller,

I think you are right about the pressure. That is the number Brad told me when I spoke to him on the phone about these. Is EE installing them on any Hi-Po 12v's or only 24v's?

Also, with your engine turned up like I am assuming the FASS will give you more power but at the same time lower your egt's about 200 degrees.

So you can adjust yours up a bit then?

Before I put the aux pump on, my fuel guage would idle at about 18 psi. Then drop to zero when you mash the throttle, the smoke would even clear up.

I don't need the 60 psi, but the pump was cheap, about $60, and fit right in.

If the FASS can sustain 30psi at full throttle, that should be enough, I would hope.

Evidently, air in the fuel is a bigger problem than I thought.

What is the estimated service life of the FASS unit?

Height - top of pump to bottom of filter 14 -14 1/4 in.

Width - just the unit 4 1/2 in, with mounting bracket 8 in.

Length- just the unit 8 1/2 in. (inlet, outlet fittings add to the length)

Has anyone noticed any difference in how quickly the engine starts after installing the FASS? Mine seems to take a couple of turns of the engine before actually starting. I just got the FASS on Thursday night. Before, it started if you did anything more than the slightest "bump". I don't know if the two are related or not, the FASS is just the last thing I did to it (the only thing since getting the new block installed).

Thanks,

Chris
