I have a 150 GPH Fass that has started kicking off and on. I've been through all of the wiring and can't find a problem there. I'm wondering if it might be a motor / brushes issue. Anyone else have this problem?

When you say turning off and on? How do you know this? By fuel pressure gauge or by sound? Or by the truck will die?

I had a problem kind of like that with my FASS. found out that I had gotten water inside the moter on the pump. I pulled FASS system off dried the moter out siliconed the brush caps and reinstalled the system and its been workin fine. Just a thought seeins how its startin to git wet outside

Almost sounds like the relay is going bad... you can get a new ice-cube relay at radio shack... for $5 might be a cheap diagnosis.

Just FYI, the newer FASS motors don't have serviceable brushes... they are termed a "million mile" motor.

His might have brushes, but the new ones (I guess Oct 05 up) don't have serviceable brushes... I know, cause I got one... guess they redesigned the motor. There isn't anyway to take the new ones apart without complete disassembly.

It was just a FYI type of thing... up to now they all had brushes from what I gathered... the one I just got, I had to wait a few extra days to get because it has the new motor on it... which seems to work fine.

Like I said, so far so good... got about 750 miles on it o far with my only real complaint being 25psi at the CP3!

I did replace the relay just to rule that out. The reason I know that it was turning off and on was because the guage was bouncing back and forth and it would stay off for a min. then come back on then sometimes real fast on off on off. Then I pulled over and put my hand on the pump while watching the guage and sure enough it's the pump kicking on and off, not a guage problem. Then I got back on the road and it happened a few more times and then the problem went away, hasn't happened again. Changed the relay when I got home.
