Hi,

My 2004. 5 lift pump went bad at 123,000 miles. I've saved up for a lift pump/filter/air separator and want to know any pro/cons to the Fass and Airdog systems...

Thanks in advance...

Will has a Fass on his 98. 5 and I had one on my 03 and they both work(ed) great. Get your replacement filters from your local Cummins dealer, very cheap compared to the other dealers.

The AirDog on my '01 has over 400,000 miles and never been touched, still extremely quiet. The filters are quite inexpensive and once I went 150,000 miles without changing it.

PM me for dealer contact who also sells the Fleetguard replacement filters.

Godspeed,
Trent

Me personally, I would save myself another $130 and just get the Raptor pump and run the Baldwin PF7977 filters in the oem canister. Another option is the FASS Dodge Direct Replacement.

If I had to choose 1 and money was no issues, AirDog. The Issues with the FAS pumps lately is the only reason.

The Raptor is a good choice if funds are tight, however, it does not give you the entrained air removal. If one is going to all the trouble of adding a pump, draw straw, etc, might as well have all the bells and whistles and benefits.

Neither has adequate filtration. Unless you are shooting for big power, retain the OE filter for water seperation and add a 2 micron between the OE cannister and CP-3.

we do what navy dood said and use the raptor pump with a fleetguard ff5264 primary filter and ff5308 secondary filter. the cp3 really needs the 2 micron filter.
