Fast Idle Setting

I went to my dealer and they knew nothing about the high idle programming of the ECM. They ask if I had a TSB and the only one I had was the one for the 04 which I knew did not apply to an 07. Does anyone know if there is a TSB for the 07 CTD or if there is something else that authorizes the dealer to set the switch in the computer module? They say they can't do it because it effects driveability and emissions.

Don't they have a training class? They have computers. Search?



And to give out obvious Crap about "driveability and emissions" is just moronic.

you have to take it to the dealer and have them hook up a scat scan tool and they can turn on that feature , on my 04. 5 they had to use a drbII , two different tools to do the same job, then you control your own idle speed if you want with the cruise control buttons

Oh man, too funny, that's EXACTLLY TO THE TEE what my dealer told me. Smarty fixed that totally, and saved me $100 from a potential dealer rip-off. You ain't in So Cal, are you??

That dealer needs to investigate the matter, in ALL 04. 5 (Auto) and up have the software,Some 04 with autos need the software update than ,after that the DRB III or Star Scan can activate. Sorry all 2003 Prior to Dec 03 (Build) are SOL.

Find a different dealer, or at least one with a diesel mechanic on duty. My dealership knew what I was talking about and it took them 2 minutes to activate it. They even came and got me before they did it to show me how easy it was. No charge.
