Fast idle What?

I'm reading alot of posts on a fast idle in our trucks. Well, mine doesn't seem too. Pluged in or not when I start up from over night all I have is a setting of about 700 rpm's. Some here say to touch gas pedal to get to 1000 rpm's, I dont understand. I have no fast idle at all like my gas 1988 Ford 4x4 EFI 460 has. I beleave from what I have seen here I an supose to have a faster RPM. Help. Thanks.
