Rear Brake Adjustment...

We put a rebuilt Getrag into my buddies 93 W350 yesterday. Since he has a PTO on the left side we could only put one Fast Cooler on. The second one will go on his other 93 W350. The kit comes with 2 coolers and bolts, however the Getrag is metric so we had to change out the 3/8 x 4" bolts for 10 mm x 100 mm. If you are planning on doing this there are 2 mods you will have to do. First the two bolts that go towards the front of the trans will need to be shorter, just like the two front studs when you install a PTO. Cut the equivilent of 1/4" off these two bolts otherwise they will interfere with the gear. Second the right lower bolt that holds the trans to the bell has too big a head. The cooler fins hit it. Again just like when installing a PTO you will need to use a special thin headed bolt. It has a recessed area for a1/4" allen wrench. He also took out the fill plug on the right hand side and replaced it with a 1/2" close nipple, a 90 elbow, then a square headed plug. After the trans is installed he adjusted this elbow so that it points straight up. While I pumped the oil in thru the shifter hole he keep his pinky in the 1/2" elbow so he would know when it was getting near the full mark. When he could feel it at the top of the elbow he then put in the plug and I gave it several more pumps and we were done. Shadrach

When I installed mine I ground off the fins of the cooler in that area and reused the stock transmission bolt.

Same here

I've done it on two sets now. I was a little upset that I had to take the die grinder to my brand new coolers, but I guess that it ain't no thing. Is anyone from Fast Coolers listening... .
