Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Fastest 24v w/4.10?

It seems like I always read that the trucks equipped with a 4. 10 do not do as well on 1/4 mile times. I thought with a 4. 10 you can get out of the hole quicker resulting in a better 1/4 time. Please feel me in for I am still learning.

Mine ran a 15. 3 @ 93 with the mods in my sig and a bad vp. Due to my injuries I use hand controls to drive, and the way they work I could not build boost off the line.

I ran a 14. 2 when I still had the 275rv injectors and had 4. 10 gears. I recently swapped a 3. 55 into the rear but haven't been back to the track plus I have the Mach 4's now so it wouldn't be a fair comparison.

12. 03 but this is with a malfunctioning Redline box that would not let the rpm past 3350... .

I too am curious on this. . I have not been to the track yet nor on the dyno, but curious to see where I'm at with my mods. The truck seems pretty quick off the line

The first variable you need to consider, is do the mods on your truck require you to go faster in the 1/4 mile than your truck will max out at with 4. 10 gears. and That is one of the only variables you need to consider
