2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission faulty security alarm

The security alarm on my 2002 has been going on intermittently for some time. It began going on at times when the remote was in my pocket and I'm sure I inadvertently set it off. Then it was going on as I was opening the door with the keys and remote in my hand. Again I think I was setting it off. I finally got tired of it so I now only use the key and leave the remote at home. Well, it still ocasionally goes on when I insert the key in the door lock. Anyone have any suggestions? I had one on a gaser years ago and if the batteries were down a little the alarm would go off at night. I did not hear it but my neibour told me about it.

I think now many companies now offer the key less technology to lock the door. And also to set off and on the alarm. I think you must find that company in your area and install that security systems in your car.

I think he's talking about the factory alarm system. Mine will always go off with just the key but I have an aftermarket immobilizer too so I'm not sure who honking at me.
