Has anyone found a replacement for the OEM wood paneling in the 06. Would like to find a black panel replacement but have not been able to locate.

The kit for a 06 mega on this site says "not for use on factory wood". I want to replace the factory wood... ... Can the factory stuff be removed?

Has anyone done this yet? or is there any other brands with a kit to replace/cover the factory wood?

The Only thing I have come up with is to remove the pieces and do a nice paint job on them. I'm not a big fan of the wood either.

Has any one taken these off/apart... . how easy or diff is it.

I guess ill take a look and see what it takes. I know some of the new plastic paints work well, at least the paint on my X-Mon worked well.

Carbon fiber looks good

I checked around and that shiney plastic can't be painted and last. If you don't have the nav. radio, D/C makes an all black dash for the low end trucks. I think I have the part number, but I'll have to check. That won't help the door panels.

I went with these guys. Nice folks. I have the carbon fiber and it looks great with the grey interior. I'll post pics as soon as I can. I am still waiting on one piece. I also have a center peice in carbon fiber finish for the Nav. radio I will be putting in the classifieds as soon as I can get time to take a few pictures.

I remember seeing somewhere that the 07 models have a silver face instead of the wood. This should fit right up to the 06 dash without a problem.

The 06 Sport models have the silver too. I have thought about going that way but I'm sure it won't be cheap. The NYC Dash site looks good but I can't decide what color would look good with the Kahki interior. I love carbon fiber, just don't know if it would look right.

My 06 Sport has a carbon fiber looking insert... came with the truck..... call power dodge in phoenix arizona if you're dealer cant provide info.

The 07s look so much better with the silver/metal trim. I don't know if it is a direct replacement for the 06 trim, but if it is it would be worth buying it from the dealer and replacing.

Tinman,

Looks good, big improvment. Are those stuck over the top of the wood or replaceing them?

Anyone have pics of the silver stock dash from a sport or the 07?

They are stuck to the stock dash with adhesive. You can see a little margin of the wood grain on some edges, but it is minimal and no one would notice unless you knew what you where looking at. You can't remove the woodgrain, it's part of the whole bezel. I investigated all the options and this was the best I could find. Except, perhaps, a black replacement from Dodge for the basic interior trucks.

The dash pieces CAN be painted, they just need the proper prep, and paint.

Take a look in this months issue of diesel power, there is an 06 that had them marble painted.

I was told the paint wouldn't last very long. It would start to peel away in maybe a year. Of course the guys I talked to may not know what they are talking about.
