Just bought a device from my local auto parts called a truckers armrest. This $3. 95 plastic gizmo slides into the side window slot and provides an armrest at the right height, even came with a cheap little foam lined cover. Lets face it most armrests are designed for a guy whose hands hang down by his knees. This device sure beats proping my elbow on the ledge next to the window!

My favorite gadget is the gear shift mounted exhaust brake switch. I drive all the time with my brake turned on which lets the ECM activate it each time I take my foot off the throttle(after the 3 second delay). When sitting at a red light the engine is "laboring" when idling so it easier to turn it off and on than reaching down to the dash mounted switch. PacBrake offers a clutch pedal disconnect switch, but I don't sit at the lights with my foot on the clutch.

Bill, I was wondering how you like the ecm controlled Pac Brake? I just traded trucks & had the other type on the old one. Both Pac Brake & Mark at TST told me about the 3 second delay. I do not even know if Mark sells the ECM brake. I am going to put one on this new truck & I do not want to make a mistake in the type I buy. I would appreciate any input you might have.

I just added the "Cup Smoothie" from Genos Garage.

The floorboard cupholder is just too UNSAFE!

After running off the road three or four times reaching for a Bud Sodie, and then wife getting tired of me asking her to hand it to me, she suggested we get something else.

I showed her the advertisement from Geno's and she practically made me get it.

Installed it today. Easy to install and very pratical - much safer!

Just got to figure out how to get her to suggest some of these other things I've seen to add.

DC should provide a "Cup Smoothie" to all the 5/6 speed owners just as a safety enhancement.

Other favorite product/add-on is my R&D Enterprises Safe. Provides secure under-the-seat access to various things of value. Being the Red Neck that I am - I like those valuable things close by.

Hacksaw,

The 3 second delay gives you time to shift gears. Also with the ECM controlling the engine brake, there are no switches to install under the accelerator pedal with their annoying clicking. The ECM is very sensitive to the throttle position and it releases the brake the instant you put any pressure on the go pedal. I know PacBrake and the Cummins E Brake use the ECM. I don't know about B-D. I'm not sure about the others but you can still use the switch under the accelerator pedal. I happen to have a PacBrake, but the others are good too. You shouldn't have any problems with any of them. If you want more info, send an e-mail.

See ya at the Texas Rally on Lake Belton in Sept. !!! #ad

My truck is still stock except for the cup-smoothie. Still gotta get to the shop for my Linex, wife still needs the tailgate (so she can see the horsetrailer hitch) and then?

I love the looks of the AirBulldog!! How much is it and do you have to do other mods to make it work? e. g. K&N filter?, other stuff? or is it just a bolt on look good and go fast operation. Plus it might be an easy sell for the wife... really honey, it will be quieter in the cab so we can talk or listen to the radio easier. blah blah blah

Stock so far but considering bedliner and louvered gate... then?

JMFVet, The Air Bulldog induction hood runs $1300. painted and installed ($1000. unpainted and of course, uninstalled). Add $150. for the optional NACA ducts to either price. This is a very good price for these NACA ducts as they are extremely labor intensive to install. They are actually functional as well, allowing hot underhood air a good escape path.

I noticed an immediate difference in reduced cab noise, I believe mostly due to the replacement fiberglass air box base. The wall thickness of the hand laid fiberglass air box structure as well as the material by nature, has superior sound insulating qualities, not to mention the intake air is taken directly off the high pressure area (leading edge) of the hood thus, very little noise. The air box base (inside and outside) as well as the replacement aftercooler tube weldment (outside only) are sprayed with a bed liner type coating to further enhance insulating properties. I would also think this would aid in noise reduction to some degree.

Doug Hofeldt (maker of the Air Bulldog induction hoods) recommends the use of the K&N #33-2056 flat panel filter for use with his induction system however, you are not held to this... it's just a recommendation. I know one thing, with his custom replacement air box base, the design as well as the cam lock latches do a very good job of properly retaining the K&N filter. The peripheral fit of the K&N filter within the replacement air box base is very good, having a slight press fit whereas, the OE air box base is quite a bit looser by comparison.
