what is the average life span of a fca?

Should i keep a spare on hand at all time's just in case the one that is on the cp3 pump is failing ? and need's to be replaced!!!

And if using two stroke oil in the fuel what kind ? snowmobile, outboard boat motors, or the oil used in power tool's like in chainsaw's, weedtrimers,

They usually don't cause the truck to completely die, you would know in advance if it starts sticking. I wouldn't carry one as a spare part myself.

Any ashless TCW3 formula is acceptable. I use WalMart's Super Tech, I add 1 pint every time I top off my tank.

the other Fca's that i have replaced have lasted any ware from 9 month's to as long as 14 month's that is why i am asking how long they should last!!!
hear in wisconsin the temp's in the winter sometime's go to the neg. themp's so the have the winter blend at most gas statons and there is a few kiwk trip's that allso carey the the non winterzed that require addatives and that is what fuel i use in the winter and i use power service fuel additive that is in the wihte bottle for the cold temp's.

And in the summer i use the grey bottle for the summer blend of fuel.

And this is the other reason why i am asking how long they should last!!!

Well, mine has 6 years and 170k on it with no issues. Now I jinxed myself. :-laf

Every 9 months replacing it indicates a fuel issue. They should last a lot longer.

Since your already using power service mix a quart of any ashless 2 stroke oil or 10 wt non-detergent motor oil with a 96 oz bottle of the PS and using 8-10 ozs every fill. Its worked well on mine and others.

I have 70K on my 07 with the original FCA? It should not be a part that needs regular replacement. Are you running any bio-diesel?

no bio-diesel at all just regular diesel fuel

I would check the drop sheet,I bit it says "Clear #2 5% bio" By the way the FCAs should last years,if they are failing regularly better find out why BC if its trash get your wallet ready to experience a huge with-draw.

Bio Diesel will Not have any effect on the FCA at 5%. In fact don't mix any additive with Bio Diesel including 2 stroke Oil, it just not necessary.

Worry about filtration and quality fuel

I have 235000 km on original FCA still going strong. All the farm diesel is treated at the bulk tanks for lubricity using (I think) a quality product. I also have GDP 2 micron filtration as well. Finally cracked #4 injection line last month -- there's something you should carry a spare of!

a) it burns poorly, leaving deposits on rings, injector nozzles, etc.

b) it is too viscous for fuel system parts with 25 millionths of an inch clearance.

As a mix normally found in 2 stroke engines it might be an issue internally but doubful at 200:1. In the exhaust one might see more deposits but as degradable as it is not sure thats even an issue. More problems will likely result from too cool EGT's.

What is the viscosit rating of #2 diesel with a 200:1 mix of 2 stroke oil? Thats the meaniningful number and whether it is any worse than bio.

The wear characteristics are much better in an HPCR system with 2 stroke oil. The logical conclusion is the viscosity is not an issue in that mix ratio.

200:1 ? I run50:1 in my bike. Is the 200 # real or just a #

Trying to lube the fuel a little not the whole engine. :-laf

The 200:1 is what was tested and is about 3/4 quart per tank. What I am running is more along the lines of 600:1 mixed with PS.
