Is anyone afraid of possible future emisions req's for diesels as applied to our old smokey's? I for one am not because it is very easy to return these old mechanically fueled beasts to stock fueling or less i. e. turn the f. f. screw out and starwheel all the way up,smoke screw disabled etc. I feel like diesels are in a grace period in california for now with no smog check. it is a emmisions loophole of sorts that may eventually get the lasso

boy, i'm glad i live in nowhere, WI. there is emmisions testing in milwaukee and i belive madison, but the rest of WI is sniffer-free. i also don't think any future laws will be made retro-active, but if they are we can always turn the truck down for the test...

I went thru Ct emissions twice in mine. Last time was Nov and I didn't change any of the settings and it passed easily.

I really don't think you'll have to worry about it.

I "detuned" the truck to stock the first couple times through after turning the pump up. Last time, I liked the way the truck drove after turning the cone back to the stock position - leaving the full fuel screw, starwheel, and everything else the same - that I left it. The truck passed with flying colors (0. 8 % opacity, 30. 0 % max allowed:)). I lost about 2 PSI of boost, but didn't perceive any loss of power. The truck smokes a whole lot less and is much more driveable now. :)
