It sounds odd, but it feels like I can feel some type of play or slop in the front end through the steering wheel.

As if there was a sloppy spot between where the shocks work and don't work.

I can feel it through the steering wheel.

Also, the shock at the front, on the front end. I still have the original. Can this be causing the problem and what is the recommended replacement?

I have just under 150,000 and Rancho RS9000 all the way around.

Thank you,

Steve

There are lots of things which could cause the feeling you describe

-Steering column

-Steering shaft

-Track bar

-Steering box

-Steering linkages and joints

-etc,etc

Best to go over the whole thing one by one and check things over. You can check the lower steering shaft youself by trying to move it up and down, and checking for any play. The other stuff requires someone to yank the wheel side to side while you take a look at everything one by one. Most likely you'll find the steering shaft or track bar is what your feeling. Check it out and let us know.
